2026 Film, Outdoor & Hunting Internship Opportunities (The Huntsman)

Are you a content creator, photographer, videographer, film student or recent graduate looking to gain real-world, hands-on industry experience? As we prepare for the next chapter of The Huntsman, we’re seeking a passionate intern to join our production team for an unforgettable journey in 2026.

This internship offers a rare opportunity to work on-location with one of Australia’s leading hunting documentary series. You’ll gain direct experience capturing wildlife, large-scale hunting expeditions, camp life, and stunning landscapes, while also assisting in producing high-quality educational and promotional content.

Internship Scope & Timeline

This internship centers around the production of as of yet unannounced project. Filming will take place over a single 15-day block in May 31st – June 15th near Toowoomba QLD. You’ll be part of a close-knit crew documenting hunts while also capturing the stories, culture, and community around camp.

What You’ll Do

As an intern, you’ll have the chance to:

• Operate cameras and capture high-quality footage in dynamic outdoor settings
• Assist with talent and crew coordination, ensuring smooth production flow
• Support the team with logistics, gear setup, and on-location planning
• Gain exposure to both production and post-production workflows
• Learn first-hand how to produce broadcast-ready documentary television

On-Site Arrangements

Accommodation and meals will be provided during the shoot, though interns are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel to and from the filming location (Toowoomba, QLD).

Compensation

This internship is currently structured as an unpaid position designed to provide valuable hands-on experience. However, depending on your skill level and contribution, there may be opportunities for compensation.

Ethical Considerations

The Huntsman centers on ethical hunting practices and wild game harvesting. The filming of this project will involve the humane harvesting of animals, as part of the story of sustainable hunting and food procurement. Applicants must be comfortable witnessing hunting, butchering, and the cooking of wild game, or open to respectfully learning about these practices.
