A heart-warming start

When I first conceived the theme for Season 3—with its focus on public land, community, and people’s stories—I was nervous. Deep down, I felt a strong conviction that this was an important direction to explore and champion. But I’d be lying if I said doubts didn’t linger:
Will people enjoy it? Will it be entertaining enough? Will the videos perform? Can the channel survive a season that doesn’t hit the numbers?

While I’m naturally optimistic, these were real and valid concerns. So last night, as I sat behind my laptop at 7:30pm watching the premiere of Episode 1, I was full of anticipation, excitement… and nerves.

What I witnessed from you—the community—was heartwarming.

Not only did the video perform incredibly well in its first three hours (one of our best launches to date), but your comments of encouragement and support kept rolling in:

These are just a few examples. To say I felt relieved would be an understatement.

I pour a huge amount of time, energy, and finances into The Huntsman, and there’s a lot riding on every episode. Beyond that, I feel a personal responsibility to help shape the culture of Australian hunting in whatever small way I can. So to see people not only understand—but support—a season like this means the world to me.
