After a month of grinding in the Victorian High Country in brand new country, helping others chase their public land sambar dreams, it came down to this: one final day, one solo mission, one last chance for Chris to fill the freezer for himself.

The Huntsman Season 3 concludes with an epic public land sambar hunt in the Victorian High Country. Returning to the rocky, sandy slopes where success had been found before, Chris tracks fresh deer sign across rugged terrain pushing into new country previously inaccessible due to wind. Despite hours of searching, the deer remain elusive… until the mountain delivers a final, dramatic Sambar encounter.

On the hike back down the mountain on last light, a sambar is suddenly honked at across the river. What follows is a tense shot, a steep cliff descent, and a freezing river crossing in nothing but underwear. The result: a clean, ethical harvest and a powerful reminder of the perseverance, adaptability, and camaraderie required for public land hunting.
