Cold, wet, and into the hills — in this episode, Chris teams up with good mate Luke Dobson and his two pointers, seasoned dog Ryder and young up-and-comer Remi, who’s still in her first year of training. It’s a proper Victorian High Country adventure chasing Sambar on public land.

The bush is lush and quiet after heavy rain, making conditions tough. Feed is everywhere, the deer are laying low, and sightings are scarce. But with boots on the ground, dogs leading the charge, and a bit of trademark persistence, the boys push deeper in search of close encounters.

Back at camp, spirits stay high with a steaming pot of venison curry shared around the fire — prepped with the help of Carnivore Collective’s butchering tools.

This episode is a celebration of mateship, hard hunts, and good times in the high country — a perfect mix of challenge, laughs, and raw Aussie hunting grit.
