Are there animals in our Australian state forests? 30 min thermal challenge!

Australian Hunting Videos

Video description:

A few weeks ago I tested out the on a fox hunt with great results. (You can check out the video here https://youtu.be/ymtQ_OPioWY) today I wanted to take more of a passive/reconnaissance approach to the device.

I’ve head it said before (mainly from lazy Victorian and New South Wales hunters) “there are no animals in our state forests”. Well, If figured this thermal monocular gives me the perfect opportunity to put that to the test.

In this video I’m taking out the XD 65 Pro II to my local state forest and I’m going to challenge myself to see how many animals I can find in just 30 minutes. No tricks, no planning, just raw data. Interested in finding out how I went? Tune into this video to find out.

IMPROTANT NOTE: At no point in this video did I carry a firearm or engage in hunting activities. It is in fact illegal to hunt with a spotlight or thermal device in Victorian state forest or crown land. To learn more about the rules and regulations concerning hunting and thermals in Victoria check out the links below.

As always, respect your state and national hunting laws and promote ethical hunting so future generations might enjoy this lifestyle we know and love.
